As humans, we like to pretend we're in control of our lives. We plan out how we want our lives to go. We decide what we want our future spouse to be like. We plan out our career path. We have this great plan for life, but how many times have our plans been different than God's plan? More often than not. We think we understand God's will for our lives, but in reality it's our will with a little God mixed in. We claim to be surrendered to God's will, but we're not willing to make any sacrifices. We want to trust God with everything, but we're afraid of what it's going to cost. However, whether we like it or not we must bend to the will of God. There is no choice in the matter. God's will is going to be done with or without you. We can try our hardest to keep life the way we like it, but if God wants something different, it's going to happen. We cannot stop it. Once we accept this, we can learn to let go of everything and trust God. The Creator of the Universe wants what's best for our lives. Why are we so hesitant to surrender? Why do we question His authority? God is the Alpha and Omega. He literally knows everything! Why is so hard as humans to admit that God's plan is better than ours and just surrender?
There is no greater joy in life than following God's will for your life. There is struggle, pain, and heartache when you're in God's will, but there is nothing more satisfying. Nobody anywhere every said that following Christ was easy, but it is worth the fight. It's worth the pain and the tears. God knows us better than we know ourselves. God knows our fears, dreams, and struggles. Is it not possible that God wants you to do something that you'll absolutely love? Is it not possible that God's plan for your life was made with your strengths and weaknesses in mind? Is it not possible that the One who formed us in the womb created us with a specific purpose in mind? We need to accept that God has a specific purpose for every human on this planet. Things in life don't happen by accident. If we accept this, then we move forward and say "God, I don't know you're plan or what you want me to do, but You know. You know, and that is enough. When the time is right, You'll reveal that to me. Right now, I'm going to trust in you because You know so much more than me." Once we reach this place, there is freedom, peace, and joy. Let go of your plans, and trust in God's plan.
In my own life, I know what I'm supposed to be doing right now, and that is to seek after Christ in my life. To become more like him. The more I grow in my walk, the closer I am getting to God's will. I may not know God's plan, but I know what I can do for the kingdom until his plan is revealed. Until I know what God has planned for me, I'm going to do things that please him and strive each day to become a more Christ-centered woman.
Romans 8:28 "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."
Jeremiah 39:17-18 "But I will rescue you on that day, declares the Lord; you will not be handed over to those you fear. I will save you; you will not fall by the sword but will escape with your life, because you trust in me, declares the Lord."
Jeremiah 32:27 "I am the Lord, the God of all mankind is anything too hard for me?"
Jeremiah 29:11 ""For I know the plans I have for you" declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.""
